This case study has given me the thoughts that customer satisfaction surveys are important to business owners to know how the company is perceived by their clients. Conducting survey helps to assess customer’s reaction to the products or services a company gives to them.

A satisfied customer spread good experiences to other clients and help increase the company's profits. Negative comments from unsatisfied customers can have an impact on one’s business. Hence, the customer may not always be right, however they need to be satisfied.

A company may not know customers' dissatisfaction with the products or services. Thru customer satisfaction survey, the management will be given insight into the future needs of the customers and the direction the company will take in the future. This also uncover a variety of unsatisfactory areas, such as rude employees, late delivery and a website that is difficult to navigate and many other problems. It adds up information on how will the company will improve. The owners should also respond to customer complaints and handle them professionally.

To keep the business on track, make sure to learn about the situation through the customer survey. High customer retention rate can be achieved thru paying attention to their comments.

Using Customer Service to  Position a Business

A good customer service cares for the customers providing them not just the needs but also exceeding their expectations of the services provided to them. Customer service representative should see to it that their customers were satisfied with their services, listen to them and take necessary actions.

The role of employees in the customer service is pretty much complicated. Employees must be alert and sensitive with the customer needs. They should take call in a friendly manner, be it a request or a complaint. They should be rigorously trained for their job to ensure they will perform tasks given to them accurately.

Market research is important since it helps to determine how satisfied are customers to the services they offer.

Providing good customer service is a key. Listening and acting to customer’s suggestion and feedback is one of the strengths to be considered in a company. It is a wise strategy that wins over customers.

Incapacitating employees is another way to success. Empowering employees means they can handle customers nicely, professionally and can react to their needs specifically and in a timely manner.

Cloud Computing

The paybacks of cloud computing are being recognized in businesses and institutions.

It includes cloud-based applications reduce infrastructure and IT costs, increase accessibility, enable collaboration, and allow organizations more flexibility in customizing their products both for their brand and for their audience.

On my perspective as an educator, education is one of the beneficiaries of these.

Hand-outs, reading materials and textbooks in digital form can solve this problem as digital content is significantly less expensive than printed content. It allows lower-income students to have access to quality learning materials. Outdated materials can be minimized or eliminated.

Going cloud-based allows the use of non- expensive hardware or software. Cloud-based applications run on Internet browsers, but most are compatible with mobile devices as well. Students do not necessarily need to own expensive computers. Students also don’t need to purchase external storage devices as there are plenty of companies, like Google, that offer free cloud-based storage.

It also offers learning avenues for students, especially those who are not served well by traditional education systems. For example, the options for adult students who didn’t finish high school can earn their diploma online.

In the field of education, cloud computing is very. Cloud computing enables educational institutions to make use of the global internet resources for data analysis and data storage.

Huge benefits would be enough to persuade many businesses to transfer their company into the cloud. More and more businesses trusted cloud because of its efficiency and security, competitiveness and also environment friendly.

Educational institutions are one of the beneficiaries of this. Cloud Computing offers access to materials for the students and teachers. Members of the academe can access to their LMS accounts/Shared Drives through the cloud. Many among them uses cloud because of its flexibility and can be accessed anytime, plus its data is more secured.

It also reduces Initial cost of purchasing hardware and software. It is energy efficient and contributes to green IT. Going paperless is also a better way to be green. Cloud computing also reduces the cost and problems associated with purchase and update of software.

It also promotes collaboration among teachers and students. The teacher can set-up various student groups to work on projects and assignments in the cloud.  The students may submit their works and even take online exams.

Green Computing

Green computing is important because it aims to minimize negative environmental impacts through the responsible use of electronics, through the creation of energy-efficient designs, the implementation of recycling programs, and designing of manufacturing processes that minimize waste.

It’s goal to reduce the hazardous material, maximize energy efficiency during the product’s lifetime and promote the recyclability of computer products. This goal can affect different aspects of computing and IT.

Green computing can helps on preventing global warming that cause of improper function in the natural atmosphere.

Energy efficiency allows to minimize the impact of electronic waste in natural environment by building up application that can save energy. Developing a data center ecosystem is one way to optimize the energy and material used in reducing environmental impact. IBM is one of the leading companies in the world that implement green computing for their data center infrastructure.

As of today, some smaller businesses may not yet be ready for virtualization. But then again, these businesses can also benefit from consolidation and more efficient server designs.

Another strategy includes Recycling waste products.  Sony, Toshiba and Apple financially responsible for recycling their old products. Nokia is offering recycling programs for mobile phones. Even local companies in the Philippines can do waste sorting. They may impose financial incentives in initiating the recycling behavior and make it a daily habit.

Another is telecommuting. Nowadays Work from home is a way of reducing hundreds of workers in workplace.  Less carbon is emitted by transportation vehicles.

Cloud computing and virtualization technology can save capital, floor space and energy by consolidating multiple workloads onto fewer physical servers.

Thin client is a way to save on energy use from PC’s and data centers.  

Supporting the use of modern technology is a key to highly industrialize our economy, however, we must be responsible with our environment.

The Internship

The Internship

The movie “The Internship” shares something about the career most people sought after nowadays. Including Google in the plot makes it more interesting.  As showed in the movie, ICT can be a powerful tool to any business.

Judging from my perspective, it is never too late to learn. Though the main characters are not the “Techie type” of persons, they are still open to learning. Learning new skills, through self-study or peer teaching can be very helpful. Perseverance is also the key.

We should acknowledge our mistakes and move on. Being introduced to a new job, a new environment comes with the thinking that you are not allowed to commit mistakes. Losing is normal. We fail once in a while. What most important is, we learn from it and prepare strategies on how to combat, if not, lessen the impact in case it reoccurs.
 
Data Analytics can be very helpful to any organization, be it a large corporation or a small family business.
 

In order to gain something, like realizing an objective, teamwork is a must. Each member diverse in qualities and preferences, if given proper guidance, enable the team function efficiently. Cooperation with the team is really important.

Have respect to peers and seniors in your organization. A good relationship should be established with your colleagues.

It should not only be that you have technical skills, there are other things that you should possess: communication skills, social awareness, right attitude, attention to details. Having positive outlook is also a key, greeting each day with a smile.
